Giannis S. Mountzios, MD, on Metastatic PD-L1–High NSCLC: Sacituzumab Govitecan/Pembrolizumab
IASLC WCLC 2026
Giannis S. Mountzios, MD, of Henry Dunant Hospital Center, reviews primary results from the phase III EVOKE-03/KEYNOTE D46 trial, which evaluated first-line sacituzumab govitecan in combination with pembrolizumab in patients with metastatic non–small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and a PD-L1 tumor proportion score of 50% or higher (Abstract PL02.06).
Roy S. Herbst, MD, PhD, of Dartmouth Cancer Center, discusses 8-year overall survival data from the landmark ADAURA trial, which showed the sustained long-term benefit of adjuvant therapy with osimertinib for patients with completely resected, EGFR-mutated stage IB–IIIA non–small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) (Abstract PL03.01).
Adam J. Schoenfeld, MD, of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, discusses findings from BNT324-01, an ongoing global phase Ib/II trial looking at pumitamig, an investigational PD-L1 × VEGF-A bispecific antibody, combined with elfetabart drozuntecan (BNT324/DB-1311), an investigational B7-H3–targeted antibody-drug conjugate, with a focus in small cell lung cancer (SCLC) (Abstract OA14.02).
Julia Rotow, MD, of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, discusses the primary results from the phase III DESTINY-Lung04 trial, which evaluated first-line trastuzumab deruxtecan (T-DXd), a HER2-directed antibody-drug conjugate, against pembrolizumab plus platinum chemotherapy in patients with advanced/metastatic HER2-mutant non–small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) (Abstract PL03.08).
Ricardo Sales dos Santos, MD, PhD, of the ProPulmão Institute, discusses data from the Third Brazilian Early Lung Cancer Trial (BRELT3). The study found low-dose computed tomography (CT) lung cancer screening using a mobile unit is feasible in socially vulnerable populations in resource-limited settings. Community-based recruitment, particularly through community health workers, improved the inclusion of high-risk and underserved groups, supporting the expansion of organized screening programs to promote equitable access and reduce lung cancer mortality (Abstract MO14.03).
Alberto A. Chiappori, MD, of Moffitt Cancer Center, discusses findings from a phase I trial looking at the safety and efficacy of LB2102, an autologous CAR-T cell therapy targeting DLL3 and armored with a dominant-negative TGF-beta receptor, in pretreated patients with small cell lung cancer (SCLC) (Abstract OA05.02).
