The Oncology Center of Excellence (OCE) at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has launched Project Interface to advance engagement and outreach to patients with cancer, advocacy organizations, and oncology experts.
Its mission is to protect, promote, and advance public health by organizing interactions with domestic and global stakeholders to share critical information related to cancer awareness and treatment options. Its central theme is “Making Cancer Personal at the FDA.”
What Project Interface Does
- Coordinate listening sessions and meetings for patient advocates and external stakeholders to engage with OCE staff about cancer-related topics, including specific subjects such as pediatric cancer;
- Support the White House Faith Office’s goal to “empower faith-based entities, community organizations, and houses of worship to better serve families and communities” through cancer-related engagement;
- Facilitate panel discussions on a wide range of cancer-specific topics;
- Publish plain-language information about cancer-related topics to make this science more accessible to the public.
