ASCO has a list of resources and information to support cancer care providers and patients affected by natural disasters such as Hurricane Ida. The resources include materials from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, emergency contact and preparedness information, and information on state societies.

The National Cancer Institute also has a list of emergency resources for the cancer community. The list includes the Cancer Information Service (CIS), which can help with disaster preparation, getting updates, and finding care. CIS is available Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM ET. It can be reached at 1-800-4-CANCER. (Recorded information is available after hours.)

For patients specifically, Cancer.Net has information on what to do in an emergency, food safety tips for severe weather, and more.
