Jame Abraham, MD, FACP, Chairman of the Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology at the Taussig Cancer Institute, Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, recently announced the appointment of Craig Sauter, MD, as the new Director of Blood and Marrow Transplant Program at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Sauer will take on his new role in early 2022.

Currently Clinical Director of Adult Bone Marrow Transplant Service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK), Dr. Sauter’s clinical expertise includes the use of stem cell transplantation to treat hematologic malignancies, particularly non-Hodgkin lymphomas and chronic lymphocytic leukemia. 

His research encompasses the search for methods to identify people with lymphoma who will benefit most from either autologous or allogeneic stem cell transplantation as well as the development of new transplantation approaches to improve patients’ outcomes.
