David H. Gutmann, MD, PhD
The Society for Neuro-Oncology and the Section on Tumors of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons/Congress of Neurological Surgeons recently named David H. Gutmann, MD, PhD, as recipient of the Abhijit Gua Award. This award is presented annually to an investigator who has achieved significant results in the laboratory and clinic, and who has served as a mentor to the next generation of neuro-oncology professionals.
Dr. Gutmann is the Donald O. Schnuck Family Professor and Vice Chair for Research Affairs in the Department of Neurology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He has dedicated his academic career to genetic causes of childhood brain tumors, specifically the neurofibromatosis cancer predisposition syndromes.
