ASH Names Recipients of Outstanding Abstract Achievement Awards

Each year, the American Society of Hematology (ASH) offers merit-based awards to support select trainees with high-achieving annual meeting abstracts who are chosen to present their work at the ASH Annual Meeting. Trainees include those who fall within one of the following categories: undergraduate student, medical student, graduate student, resident physician, and postdoctoral fellow (MD or PhD).

These $2,000 awards are provided to trainees with the highest scoring abstract (in each trainee category) of which they are the first author. The 2019 Outstanding Abstract Achievement Award recipients will present their abstracts at the upcoming ASH Annual Meeting in Orlando. Recipients include:   

Undergraduate Student: Stacy B. Kiven, BS, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis

Medical Student: Hrishikesh Srinagesh, BA, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York

Graduate Student: Melanie Castro-Mollo, MD, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York

Resident Physician: Naranie Shanmuganathan, MBBS, FRACP, FRCPA, Royal Adelaide Hospital and SA Pathology, Adelaide, Australia

Postdoctoral Fellow: Tomoya Muto, MD PhD, Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, Cincinnati.
