John Cleveland, PhD
The Moffitt Cancer Center has announced the appointment of John Cleveland, PhD, as Center Director and Executive Vice President of the Tampa-based, National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center. Dr. Cleveland joined Moffitt in 2014 as Associate Center Director of Basic Science; in December 2019, he assumed the role of Interim Center Director. Dr. Cleveland brings 40 years of research experience to this new role. He will be responsible for continuing to elevate Moffitt’s research enterprise and reputation for world-class bench-to-bedside science.
Prior to joining Moffitt, Dr. Cleveland was Professor and Chair of the Department of Cancer Biology at The Scripps Research Institute in San Diego.
