Ronan Kelly, MBBCh, MD, MBA
Baylor Scott & White Health, the largest not-for-profit health-care system in Texas, recently named Ronan Kelly, MBBCh, MD, MBA, Chief of Oncology for the organization’s North Texas medical centers. Dr. Kelly’s leadership will span Baylor University Medical Center—the System’s North Texas flagship hospital—as well as a network of Baylor Charles A. Sammons Cancer Centers. Dr. Kelly is also Medical Director of Baylor Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center–Dallas, located at Baylor University Medical Center.
Prior to joining Baylor Scott & White, Dr. Kelly served as Director of the Gastroesophageal Cancer Therapeutics Program, Johns Hopkins University and as Medical Director of Global Oncology, Johns Hopkins International.
Dr. Kelly currently serves as the Co-Chair of the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer and the ASCO task force, working to improve the quality of care received by patients with lung cancer worldwide. Throughout his career, Dr. Kelly has curated a portfolio of clinical trials in lung and gastroesophageal cancers. He has authored and coauthored over 150 peer-reviewed publications, abstracts, and book chapters.
Dr. Kelly earned his medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and a master’s in business administration from the University College Dublin. He served his oncology fellowship at the National Cancer Institute. Dr. Kelly was also recently appointed Clinical Professor of Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine and remains adjunct Associate Professor of Oncology at Johns Hopkins. ■
