Dr. Hsu earned both his MD and PhD in Biochemistry from Duke University School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital—where he served as Chief Medical Resident—followed by a medical oncology fellowship at UCSF.

In reflecting on his new role, Dr. Hsu shared his vision for the future of the ASCO Educational Book. “I hope the ASCO Educational Book continues to be the ‘go-to’ place for snapshots of the current state of our field and previews of the advances to come,” he said.

He also emphasized the publication’s unique role in the oncology community, noting that it has long “spoken to the moment to tell stories unique to oncology that capture what inspires us about science, medicine, and patient care.”

Looking ahead, Dr. Hsu expressed enthusiasm for the evolution of the Educational Book as the ways clinicians consume and engage with information continue to change. “As the platforms on which people engage and synthesize information evolve, I hope the ASCO Educational Book continues to adapt by embracing new formats, helping establish the foundations needed to put emerging discoveries into context.”

As Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Hsu will guide the continued development of the ASCO Educational Book, ensuring it remains a trusted, relevant, and forward-looking resource for oncology professionals worldwide.
