Larry Kwak, MD, PhD

City of Hope recently announced that Larry Kwak, MD, PhD, has been inducted into the 2020 Class of American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) Fellows. Dr. Kwak is Vice President and Deputy Director of City of Hope’s Comprehensive Cancer Center. He has pioneered breakthrough innovations in immunology and cancer vaccines. Dr. Kwak’s latest research is on the first chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy targeting the B-cell–activating factor receptor on cancerous cells, with the goal of using it in patients who have relapsed after CD19 immunotherapies.

AIMBE announced that 156 new members have been elected to the College of Fellows in recognition of their achievements in medical and biological engineering.
