Recipients Named for the 2026 Pezcoller Foundation–AACR International Award

Dr. Douglas R. Lowy and Dr. John T. Schiller will receive the Pezcoller Foundation–AACR International Award for Extraordinary Achievement in Cancer Research at the AACR Annual Meeting 2026, recognizing their pivotal contributions to the development of the HPV vaccine, which has transformed cancer prevention. With more than 30 years of collaboration, they have made significant discoveries in cancer research and have been instrumental in promoting vaccination programs that prevent HPV-induced cancers, greatly reducing cervical cancer incidence globally.
