Suresh Vedantham, MD, FSIR, an interventional radiologist and Professor of Radiology and Surgery at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University in St. Louis, assumed the office of President of the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) on March 7, 2017, during the Society’s Annual Scientific Meeting in Washington, DC.
“Interventional radiologists are increasingly part of the clinical health-care team, enhancing the team’s ability to deliver comprehensive, quality patient care through the limitless power of image-guided treatments,” said Dr. Vedantham, who will represent the society as it reaches an all-time high of more than 7,000 doctors, trainees, students, scientists, and allied health professional members. ■
