Medical oncologist Philip A. Philip, MD, PhD, has joined Henry Ford Cancer Institute (HFCI) as Director of Gastrointestinal Oncology and Neuroendocrine Oncology, Medical Director of Research and Clinical Care Integration, and co-leader of the Henry Ford Pancreatic Cancer Center (HFPCC). Dr. Philip has led numerous breakthroughs over the course of his career in the areas of pancreatic cancer and neuroendocrine tumors.

Dr. Philip will join HFCI from the Karmanos Cancer Institute, where he has served in multiple leadership roles over the past 25 years. He will continue to serve as tenured Professor of Oncology at Wayne State University School of Medicine.

Dr. Philip will co-lead the HFPCC alongside David Kwon, MD, pancreatic cancer surgeon and Clinical Director of the HFPCC, and Howard Crawford, PhD, who joined the HFPCC in 2020 as Scientific Director from the University of Michigan.
