Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University has named Mylin A. Torres, MD, the new Director of the Glenn Family Breast Center, effective January 19, 2016. She succeeds Ruth O’Regan, MD, who now heads the University of Wisconsin Division of Hematology and Oncology.
Dr. Torres is Associate Professor in Emory’s Department of Radiation Oncology and a member of Winship’s Cancer Prevention and Control Program. Her research involves clinical trial development, outcomes measures, identifying patients at risk for side effects of breast cancer treatment, and quality-of-life metrics of breast cancer survivors. She has received highly competitive research grants from the National Cancer Institute, Radiation Therapy Oncology Group, and Susan G. Komen. ■
