Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) announced its commitment to communities across Long Island with the dedication of MSK Nassau, an outpatient cancer treatment facility centrally located in Nassau County, New York. MSK’s newest location, and its third on Long Island, opened for patient care on April 8. All of the patient care staff and services from MSK Rockville Centre, which has been open since 1997 on Mercy Medical Center’s campus, will relocate roughly 4 miles northeast to the new and much larger facility.
Patients at MSK Nassau will be cared for by MSK physicians, including cancer surgeons with on-site office hours, which will allow patients to complete much of their presurgical testing locally and will eliminate the need for additional travel into Manhattan for postsurgical visits. ■
