“We have a great new leader who is about to take on the responsibility of the National Cancer Institute,” said Rep. Higgins. “We pledge to work with you—Republicans, Democrats, all of us—toward the goal of one day eliminating all suffering and death due to cancer.”

“We’re thrilled to have you leading the charge and working not just for NCI but working to advance the Cancer Moonshot and to end cancer as we know it,” said Rep. Kilmer.

“You wear a cape,” said Rep. Kelly, summarizing an evening of gratitude and recognition of Dr. Bertagnolli’s previous work and the work to come.

The Association looks forward to working with Dr. Bertagnolli and continued collaborations with NCI.
