On January 1, 2015 for the 43rd year, cancer research and treatment center City of Hope participated in the 126th Tournament of Roses Parade. In the photo below, the Wolfrank family, including former stem cell recipient Gavin, 9, stands atop City of Hope’s float during its preparation for the parade in Pasadena, California. Gavin was one of six cancer survivors offered the chance to ride the float on New Year’s Day with their loved ones.

The float’s theme, “Made Possible by HOPE,” illustrated the connection between City of Hope’s research and the futures it makes possible. Also on the float during the parade and representing the institution’s people and care teams, were:  Robert W. Stone, President and Chief Executive Officer; Steven T. Rosen, MD, Provost and Chief Scientific Officer; and Anne Bourque, RN, Clinical Nursing Director of Hematology and Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation. ■
