ASCO is currently recruiting practices to participate in measures testing for a variety of efforts, including re-endorsing existing measures by the National Quality Forum (NQF). In addition to ensuring the highest level of quality care for individuals with cancer and advancing the specialty of oncology, participating practices will be provided with some financial support for their participation, and ASCO members will also be awarded FASCO points.
Current measures available for testing include:
- NQF: Pain Intensity Quantified (0384e)
- NEW! Moore Foundation Grant: Appropriate Testing for Patients With Ovarian Cancer
- NEW! Moore Foundation Grant: BRAF Mutational Analysis Results Received for Patients Treated for Metastatic Colorectal Cancer.
Participating practices will answer a series of questions (via Survey Monkey) on a random sample of 50 patients included in the eligible population for each measure. The estimated time commitment for each measure is 4 to 5 hours. Practices can choose to test one measure or multiple measures.
Interested practices should fill out a practice interest survey to provide some basic information (eg, geographic location, practice size, use of electronic medical record/electronic health record, etc.) and a point of contact. Once the interest survey is received, ASCO will contact the practices regarding next steps.
Questions may be e-mailed to measurement@asco.org.
