Dana-Farber Cancer Institute has appointed John Ryan, JD, as its Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Chief Governance Officer. Mr. Ryan has extensive expertise representing health-care and life sciences organizations in public company and nonprofit settings. He has managed a wide range of legal matters, including medical research and technology, clinical care, IP protection, and international expansion.

Experience and Education
Mr. Ryan joins Dana-Farber from The Jackson Laboratory, where he served as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. He previously held similar roles at Unilife Corporation and Aramark Corporation, and he was a Partner at the Philadelphia-based law firm Duane Morris LLP.
Mr. Ryan attended New York University, where he graduated with a BA cum laude, and earned his law degree from Northwestern University. Following law school, he worked as an Assistant District Attorney in Manhattan. Mr. Ryan succeeds Richard Boskey, JD, who is retiring as Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Chief Governance Officer after 21 years of service to Dana-Farber.
