Grace Lu-Yao, PhD, Associate Director of Population Science at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center–Jefferson Health (SKCC), has been honored with the International Society of Geriatric Oncology (SIOG) 2018 Nursing and Allied Health Investigator Award at the SIOG 2018 Annual Conference.
Dr. Lu-Yao presented her award-winning abstract, “Relationship Between Polypharmacy Status and Healthcare Utilization in Geriatric Oncology Patients Undergoing Chemotherapy,” at the SIOG 2018 Annual Conference. The study is the largest population-based research to quantify health-care use among geriatric patients with cancer within 6 months of chemotherapy and assess how the number of prescriptions patients were taking before chemotherapy affects postchemotherapy use. ■
