Nancy Thomas, MD, PhD
University of North Carolina (UNC) Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center member Nancy Thomas, MD, PhD, has been named Chair of the Department of Dermatology, effective January 1. She assumes the role from Luis Diaz, MD, who is stepping down from the position after serving as Chair for 16 years.
Dr. Thomas joined the faculty at the UNC School of Medicine in 1992 and currently holds the positions of Irene and Robert Alan Briggaman Distinguished Professor and Vice Chair in the Department of Dermatology. An active clinician and researcher, Dr. Thomas co-leads the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center’s Skin Cancer and Melanoma Program. ■
