New York University (NYU) Langone Health’s Perlmutter Cancer Center recently appointed Abraham Chachoua, MD, as the new Director of Perlmutter Cancer Center’s Lung Cancer Center. Dr. Chachoua currently serves as the Jay and Isabel Fine Professor of Oncology and Professor of Urology at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. He is also the Section Chief, Medical Oncology; Associate Director, Cancer Services; and Clinical Director of Solid Tumor Oncology at Perlmutter Cancer Center.
Dr. Chachoua is a recognized leader in lung cancer therapy and has led several Perlmutter Cancer Center and NYU Langone initiatives in lung cancer screening and care over the past several years. He replaces Robert Cerfolio, MD, MBA, the inaugural center leader. Dr. Cerfolio will focus on his roles as Executive Vice President and Vice Dean at NYU Langone, Chief of Hospital Operations, Chief of the Division of Thoracic Surgery, and Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery.
