AS PRACTICES across the country implement the Quality Payment Program (QPP), it’s important to remember that 2017 is a transition year. Practices only have to report one measure for one patient (including at least one Medicare patient) in order to receive a neutral payment adjustment and avoid financial penalties in 2019.

However, practices that can report a bit more data may try to earn a small positive payment adjustment in 2019, if they plan ahead. Practices must start accurately recording relevant data no later than October 2, 2017, in order to have 90 days of 2017 data by the end of the year. Learn more at www.asco.org/macra.

Throughout the MACRA implementation process, ASCO will share the latest updates and information with members. Breaking cancer policy news is always available on ASCO in Action. ■
