THE AMERICAN ASSOCIATION FOR CANCER RESEARCH (AACR) welcomes Elizabeth M. Jaffee, MD, Deputy Director for the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins and Associate Director of the Bloomberg~Kimmel Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy, as President of AACR for 2018–2019. Additionally, Elaine R. Mardis, PhD, Co-Executive Director of the Institute for Genomic Medicine at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital, was inducted as President-Elect. 

In addition to receiving multiple awards and honors, Dr. Jaffee has been an active member of the AACR since 1994. She has served on the Board of Directors (2013–2016), served as Co-Chair (2015, 2017) and member (2006) of the Annual Meeting Program Committee, as well as been a member on multiple AACR committees. Most recently, Dr. Jaffee was elected to the 2018 class of Fellows of the AACR Academy. She also serves on many advisory boards, including the University of Pennsylvania’s Abramson Cancer Center, Duke Cancer Institute’s Scientific Advisory Board, the External Advisory Boards of the Seattle Breast Spore, and the University of Alabama GI SPORE. ■
