Knowing that my colleagues and peers in oncology are involved in reviewing these materials gives me an added sense of confidence as a purchaser.

ASCO has redesigned its online bookstore. Now visitors can enjoy a streamlined environment powered by Amazon, allowing them to search in just about any way they want to: newest to oldest, most popular, by disease type, by professional interest, and the list goes on.

The new bookstore platform, which offers more than 200 print and online products, went live on May 8.

20% Discount for All
ASCO Members

Paying is now simpler, too. The new, enhanced checkout system allows visitors to make purchases using their existing Amazon.com login and password as well as their traditional asco.org login and password.

With the move to the new platform, ASCO has also streamlined how it provides the member discount. Rather than individual cost reductions per item, ASCO is now offering its membership a standard 20% discount on all purchases. Members need only enter their ASCO membership ID number or login/username in any of several locations on the site to obtain the discount code, which they can apply at checkout.

Store Credit Card Information and Addresses

With the new bookstore platform, visitors can now store credit card information instead of having to type it in each time, and they can also store several shipping addresses. In addition, instead of having to abort a purchase if they suddenly have to leave the computer, visitors can save their items for later purchase if they are called away.

What hasn’t changed is the vast array of products available in the ASCO bookstore. Visitors may find books that touch on cancer and practice management, as well as clinical and professional development publications.

E-Learning Content Available

Robert S. Miller, MD, of the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins, and Chair of the ASCO Integrated Media and Technology Committee said, “With the new layout of the ASCO University Bookstore, I can really appreciate the wealth and diversity of educational products that are available. And it’s reassuring to know that all of these products have gone through the ASCO review process. Knowing that my colleagues and peers in oncology are involved in reviewing these materials gives me an added sense of confidence as a purchaser.”

The new and improved bookstore features ASCO’s wide variety of e-learning content available via ASCO University. Members can also order and download the Virtual Meeting for ASCO’s meetings that record the live sessions.

Members can now see a listing of their recently viewed items, track orders in real time, and view their order history. Users can also leave reviews, feedback, and ratings.
